Renegade Cane Rum Hope Pre-Cask Pot Still

Distilled by Renegade in Grenada, this release features cane Code PC05H21-P1 and features cane from Hope. It’s distilled on a pot still and features bottling at 50% ABV. There is no overlooking Hope’s arrival. Packed full of apples, peaches, pears, white wine vinegar, a touch of lactic funk and a whole heap of slate, there’s no shortage of character on the nose. On the palate, it’s completely different from the nose. Sweet and juicy up front, a burst of pineapple and pear reign powerful. Funky ester and vinegar-y notes creep on the back palate. Long finish. Despite the aggressive demeanor of the nose, both the palate and finish manage to hold an impressive balance between funk, fruit and some of those heavier, industrial notes. Lovely, rich, it’s far from boring. This bottling is concentrated and nearly unbridled character from tip to tail.
